Whether you’re playing a rough sport or grinding your teeth overnight, we have dental appliances that can provide your mouth with the protection it needs. There are two kinds of mouth guards we offer:
- Mouth Guards
- Night Guards
While physical activity is great for your health, sports can increase your risk of injury. Blunt force trauma to your mouth can be especially problematic, necessitating an emergency visit if teeth get chipped or knocked out.
We recommend mouth guards for any sport where you may be at risk of injury to the mouth, such as boxing, football, or basketball.
Depending on how often you need to use them, these appliances typically last anywhere from 3-10 years.
Along with mouth guards, we also offer night guards. If you find yourself waking up with jaw pain, you may be grinding your teeth at night. Teeth grinding can wear away your enamel, or in some cases, even damage any dental restorations you’ve had.
Night guards are designed to be worn around your teeth. This protects the teeth overnight, preventing you from placing too much pressure on them. They can also be useful for patients who are suffering from sleep apnea.
Night guards can last anywhere from one to five years.
